Week #3
We have taken a little break since most of us went on vacation on winter break. We did do quite a lot right before the break though.
1) Claim of progress
We have performed our dance compilation at a party that we attended. We made complete fools of ourselves, but nonetheless, we got out of our comfort zone and further progressed to accomplishing our goal. We do have video proof that we did this, but the camera-women was really poopy (Myla), so it isn't the best.
2)What should we be doing that we haven't yet?
We should start meeting up sometime this month. During the meeting, we should discuss Korean words/phrases that we have learned over this period of time, as well as learn new dances. We also need to be a bit more serious about this project.
3)What is your short term goal?
Our short term goal hasn't changed yet. We still want to learn Korean to the point we can have some small conversations within the group, and perfect our dance compilation. We also want to learn even more dances to other K-pop songs that are not included in the dance compilation.
4) What have you learned so far?
We have learned some more Korean words + phrases. We have also learned the dances in the dance compilation, as well as the horrifying feeling of performing our dance compilation in front of a large group of strangers.
5) What will we need to learn?
We still need to learn more about the Korean culture and language, as well as more dances. We also need to know how to pronounce many of the Korean words + phrases that we have learned (so we don't sound like idiots).
6) What help do we need?
We still need help on learning the Korean language. This includes writing, reading, and most importantly, pronunciation. Maya has found out the Rock Valley College offers Korean classes, but the cost for that is out of our budget (we're broke).

Questions Week #2
1) Claim of progress
Gwyn has learned many dances that she will teach us all. She is also arranging a compilation of dances into a 2-5 minute dance to be learned by the end of the year. We now know the entire Hangul alphabet and how to spell some words. We are continuing to learn simple phrases in Korean. while doing all of this, we are learning more and more about the Korean culture.
2)What should we be doing that we haven't yet?
We should begin learning the dances that Gwyn has chosen so we can practice them and become better. Also, we should contact people that know more about the Korean language in order more efficiently learn the pronunciations of words.
3)What is your short term goal?
Our short term goal is to learn some basic words and phrases in Korean as well as teach ourselves more about the culture (by watching Korean news and TV). Also, we want to learn the beginning of our dances so we can put them together into a compilation. All of this will help us achieve our long term goal of learning much more about Korea.
4) What have you learned so far?
So far, we have learned a lot more about the Korean writing system (Hangul) and music industry. We have also learned some general things about the dances we will be doing, such as some of the basic moves. We learned many greetings in Korean and the difference and significance of the informal and formal way of saying things.
5) What will we need to learn?
We still need to learn many things. There is a lot more to learn about the language and the culture. We have not gotten together to practice some of the dances we are going to perform, and me must do that as well.
6) What help do we need?
We need help from native speakers of the language to oversee our pronunciations of words. Also, we still have to make plans for dance practices and their locations. Because our goal is to learn AND spread the culture, we still need to find fellow Korea-lovers to help us with that.
